The movie became a smash hit in the Box Office, beating Detective Pikachu's opening.

 

As the movie itself:

 

Sonic Movie

I love it! Sonic was so damn adorable! Jim Carrey was awesome as Eggman/Robotnik! I liked Tom and Maddie's characters.

Sequel is coming, Tails appeared!

Good to hear!!!!! I wanted to to go watch it opening weekend but my cousin wanted to watch birds of prey. =( Ill give my thoughts when I do see it

They're calling it the best movie based on a video game. I think that'a first for me since many of such movies sucks badly. It even beat Birds of Prey which they're saying it's horrible. I haven't seeing it yet, I thought it wasn't going to be a big deal but seen the non spoiler reviews and how well it did on it's opening weekend, the movie is better than I thought.

I saw the sonic movie friday with my mom and brother, it was amazing. even my mom who isn't a sonic fan loved it. she falls asleep with most movies but this one kept her engaged, smiling, laughing, and grooving to the music the whole movie.  also it has made 113 million worldwide and is the best selling video game movie of all time, it beat detective pikachu's record of best selling opening  for a video game movie. and omg the cgi and action scenes were so good.

I want the whole main cast, sonic, amy, tails, and knuckles. cream and cheese would be nice too. plus it wouldn't be right to have shadow before them, as cool as he is. amy, tails, and knuckles should at least be in first. oh also, movie robotnik version of metal sonic.

I fell in love with the movie, purely because of Sonic and how they showcased his speed. I hated the casting, Jim Carrey as Robotnik was terrible in my opinion, especially. But, Sonic himself was enough to make me fall in love with the movie.

A sequel was announced on May 28, 2020, with Fowler returning as director and Casey and Miller returning as writers. It was also confirmed that Tim Miller, Hajime Satomi, and Haruki Satomi will also be returning as executive producers and Neal H. Mortiz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara producing the sequel.

Bring this back a bit since the sequel is out in theaters.

 

For those who didn't hear the recent news of the films:

 

1) More films as the sequel teased a certain popular character, whom I'm about to reveal in a second

 

2) Knuckles will receive a spin-off series that will only be available for streaming in Paramount+ next year.

 

I just watch the sequel:

Sonic 2

Best sequel ever! There's some lore of the 7 emeralds combined become the Master Emerald. The echidnas were definitely powerful which in response gave Longclaw's tribe to take the emerald away from the echidnas and safely hidden it on Earth.

 

Tails watched Sonic during the first film as how he came to Earth and became friends with Sonic.

 

Knuckles is badass and funny at the same time. His lore was explored for a bit (the echidnas at the first scene of the first film are his tribe and father who fought Longclaw). 

 

Those who are fans -ladies- of Shemar Moore will also be swoon (shirtless scene).

 

Rachel, the sister-in-law from the first film, is the highlight for the comedic scenes. Trust me, you'll be dying of laughter.

 

Sadly, this maybe Jim Carrey's last acting role as he announced that he's retiring. So we may get someone else as Robotnik/Eggman.

And, he does become a badass villain in the last part of the film.

 

Speaking of the last part, Super Sonic makes his debut! (and Knuckles made a shout-out at the end of a certain comic series, not Archie or IDW, but towards Fleetway comics, the one with Super Sonic as an evil alter-ego of Sonic. Those living in UK/Europe may know what I'm talking about).

 

Lots of references and shout-outs of the franchise, including Sonic Adventure 2, which means I can reveal this:

 

GUN is in the franchise, Shemar's character is part of them. And...

The Lara-Su Chronicles is officially a waste of time for us Sonic fans because of his ego.
